Tom Hiddleston looked to be the favourite to play James Bond after the announcement that Daniel Craig would no longer be playing the role. With all the rumours circling around, it looks like Tom isn’t so sure he’s going to be the guy for the job..
Tom recently told fans that they are probably going to be ‘disappointed’.
Speaking in Philadelphia at the Wizard World event this past weekend, the low-key, Loki actor insisted that there wasn’t any ‘announcement’ coming.
When asked by a fan about the 007 rumours, Tom remarked: “I’m sorry to disappoint you, everybody. I don’t think that announcement is coming.”
“But I’m very gratified to hear the enthusiasm. There’s not much that I can say that I haven’t already said, but I know, your guess is as good as mine to be honest.”
Tom had previously been seen telling Graham Norton his character in ‘The Night Manager’ was ‘very similar‘ to James Bond.
Although Tom has seemingly been the favourite of choice these past few months, Sam Mendes (Skyfall and Spectre director) perhaps thinks otherwise, claiming that: “Bond actors are never the expected choice.”
Could it be Idris Elba then or perhaps Tom Hardy?
