This statement is made on behalf of Blue Inc (UK) Limited (the Company) in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act) for the financial year ending 30 June 2018.
We are fully committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business dealings. We welcome the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 as understand that modern slavery is a global issue. The Company will not trade or partner with any business or organisation involved in such practice and expect our suppliers and partners to also demonstrate a zero tolerance to exploitation. To this end, all supplier contracts now include a clause requiring suppliers and their subcontractors, comply with the Act, including our right to terminate if breached. We also expect our suppliers to hold their own suppliers to the same high standards. We shall continue to review our procedures to ensure fit for purpose.
We are a multi-channel fashion retailer with Blue Inc, Officers Club and Blue Inc Outlet stores nationwide. Our products are also available online from our websites; Blue Inc and Twisted Soul. We have a number of Blue Inc international partners who supply our products in France, Germany and Russia with products dispatched directly from the UK. We also distribute via marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and LaRedoute directly from the UK. Our workforce is based in the UK with a Retail Head Office in Walthamstow, London. We have a robust new hire process in place and recruit employees directly, obtaining verification upon hire that candidates are applying on their own behalf. Our Distribution Centre is outsourced and do not manufacture our own products. We work closely with external suppliers to source and supply product and our dedicated Buying Team ensure supplier relations and standards are maintained.
We will only engage with suppliers, contractors and partners who confirm their compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We expect all employees to observe and adhere to our policies and incorporated into our Anti-Modern Slavery Policy, information encouraging employees to report concerns confidentially. We also have a dedicated Loss Prevention Hotline where employees can anonymously report suspicious or dishonest behaviour along with a Whistleblowing Policy. During this financial year, we shall continue to ensure all new and existing suppliers, partners and contractors are aware of our Anti-Modern Slavery Policy along with educating employees on the importance of this issue, further raising awareness. We are committed to support the understanding, identification, reporting and elimination of any risks throughout our organisation.
